Kate Evans presents the exclusive Northern launch of her award-winning new graphic novel Threads from the Refugee Crisis. It’s a poignant and heartfelt, yet wryly humorous, account of life in the Calais Jungle. Evans takes us on a tour through her previous works: the sharply satirical Funny Weather, the practical Food of Love, Bump, the dramatic Red Rosa and the classic early volume Copse to explain how 25 years of drawing cartoons has shaped her latest book, which explores the unique confluence of factors that shape the lives of refugees. The event will be introduced by Lou Crosby, Laydeez do Comics, Leeds.
