Nestled in the beautiful Pennines, Hebden Bridge is part of a beautiful landscape, filled with woodlands, moorlands, reservoirs lakes and a whole lot of charisma. Nature is a huge part of what gets people here, and a huge part of why they stay. The beautiful canals that frame the town, are followed by rivers, streams and with it a host of wildlife. There are plenty of walks and hikes nearby, fell running trails, places to cycle, and if you can get yourself to the top of a hill, the view of the valley will take your breathe away.
We are host to a huge selection of cafe’s, eateries, shops and markets from a mixed of local and goods from further affield. Many of the products are made in the area, and many of the Cafe’s and restaurants are hosts to delicious food and artists work. We feel it very important to support local and independent business, we are proud to host many independent retailers.
All that walking around looking at the views will probably make you a bit peckish. Well you’re in luck! Hebden Bridge has a wide selection of places to eat and drink, whatever you’re dietary requirement. Vegan Cafe’s, to charcuterie boards, cocktail bars, wine bars and of course good old fashioned pubs. The only question is, who’s getting the round in?…..
Although the festival happens only once a year, you can be sure there is art in the heart of this place. All year round there are events, many a music night held at our nationally acclaimed ‘Trades Club’ as well as well established open mics, and electronic music nights. With Artsmill, Northlight, Handmade Parade and the Egg Factory, we are in safe hands to make sure that artistic events, workshops and exhibitions are happening all year round, as well as touring exhibitions at the town hall. Hebden Bridge Arts Festival is committed to supporting the artistic energy of this town, the arts is for life. Not just for summer.
