The Festival wouldn’t happen without its wonderful volunteers and if you fancy joining the team there are lots of different ways in which to get involved.
Take a look at our Festival Maker menu below and fill in the online form if you’d like to join us. You can volunteer for as many or as few roles as you like – any help is much appreciated.
If you have any queries about the roles or the application form, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Data crunching may not be the most glamorous of jobs, but it’s a vital one, and as such we really need people to assist with data inputting before, during, and after the Festival. If data is your thing, then please get in touch.
Visitor Survey Volunteers
If you’re a person who enjoys mingling with the crowds, and chatting to out-of-town visitors, then you’re just the person we need to help us conduct our visitor surveys. Our fantastic street days attract many visitors from out of town, and we need to have a little chat with these people to capture some info. So if you’re friendly, confident, and like a natter then this is the perfect job for you!
We need techie people to assist behind the scenes with lighting, sound, installing and de-rigging equipment.
Box Office/Information Stewards
As our front-of-house Festival representatives, it’s vital that you give a warm welcome to all customers whilst selling tickets and answering queries. An in-depth knowledge of the programme, as well as all things Hebden Bridge, is essential and IT skills would be useful.
Community Liaison Volunteer
The Festival is committed to projects that are driven by and for the community, and as such we’d love to hear from individuals who are sensitive to the needs of the local community, and eager to get involved in community projects.
Arriving well before the event commences, you will help set up the venue. When the audience arrives you will sell/collect tickets, direct them to their seats or assist in any other way. The steward will be on hand throughout the performance to offer support as required. You may also be required to help hand out/collect event feedback forms.
Can you help us spread the word? We need a team of festival ambassadors to distribute programmes, put up posters, share information via social media and generally blow our trumpet from programme launch on the 5 May!
Green Room Volunteers
We need a Green Room Manager and Assistants to ensure that the artists have refreshments and a clean, tidy and secure changing area.
Street Day Stewards
This will involve bucket-shaking, directing members of the public to the various ‘stages’ around town and handing out maps. You may need to ‘mind’ a street performer and ensure that performers are where they need to be. Of the utmost importance is a happy, friendly face no matter the weather!
You will meet and greet the workshop participants, and assist the person running the workshop (this may involve setting up the workshop, getting the venue ready, helping the participants).
